“Is that the Holy Bible in your pants or are you just happy to see me?”
“Are you still playing the Game Boy®?”
“Have you quit your career to become a traveling book salesman?”
These are all questions that you receive while storing the LG Intuition in your pants pocket. That is, if you can fit it in your pants pocket. The Intuition is a clear response to the Galaxy Note by Samsung (Read my thoughts on the Note here). Bigger than a smartphone but smaller than a tablet, these devices are known by many as a “phablet”. While strikingly unoriginal, there really isn’t a more suitable classification for a device such as this. It is a hybrid of sorts. An alien.
The problem with these devices is that they are just too big for a smartphone and too small to be a tablet. I am not sure if a smartphone could ever replace a tablet and vice versa.
With that said, let’s dive a little deeper in to the madness that is: the LG Intuition.
Verizon has taken the wrapping off of its latest smartphone offering. The Intuition by LG, is a 5″ superphone that is sure to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note (1 and 2).
Under the hood, buyers will be treated to a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM. The hood itself sports a 5″ HD display with 4:3 aspect ratio to “fully use the screen size and eliminate dead space,” an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
Ice Cream Sandwich comes pre-loaded with hopes and dreams of a Jelly Bean update. LG apps include QuickMemo, which like S-Memo from Samsung, can be used to scribble messages with the included “Rubberdium” pen or with their finger. With this app, you can add a personalized note to photos, maps, websites and share with friends using any of the available email or social services you have on your device. The Intuition also features the LG Tag+ app (NFC) and a notebook app which can be used to create documents including text, drawings, images, video and voice clips.
So when can you get your paws on it? The Intuition will be available online starting September 6 and will be in Verizon Wireless brick and mortar stores starting September 10 for the standard smartphone price $199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. Note that if you order online between September 6-10, Verizon will throw in a LG Tone Stereo Bluetooth® headset for free.
Stay tuned for when the review model shows up on Tech Void’s doorstep.
